Three winners for Vale Of York

Sunny York makes a successful debut

First-season sire Vale Of York continued his very promising start to his stud career on 14 June when his daughter Sunny York was victorious on her racecourse debut at Lingfield.

Settled in midfield under Richard Hughes, the James Tate-trained filly made headway a furlong from home and despite not having the clearest of runs ran on well to win by three quarters of a length.

Bred by Ken Lynch and now running in the colours of Saif Ali, Sunny York is out of the Indian Ridge mare Alexander Ridge, making her a three-parts sister to Stakes winner Varese. She was a 25,000 guineas yearling.

Vale Of York is also sire of unbeaten Stakes winner Fontanelice, plus promising fellow winner Haxby.
