Ten winners for Vale Of York

Escrick takes her first-season sire’s tally into double figures

First-season sire Vale Of York recorded his tenth individual winner on 28 August when his daughter Escrick justified favouritism to land the five-furlong maiden at Lingfield.

Under a confident ride from Pat Dobbs, the David Simcock-trained filly weaved through the field in the closing stages to win more easily than the three-quarter length margin would suggest.

Owned and bred by Malih L Al Basti, she is the second winner from two foals to race out of the winning Cadeaux Genereux mare Dubai Power. The mare’s other successful performer is Stakes-placed juvenile Power Of Light (by ill-fated Darley stallion Echo Of Light).

Vale Of York is also sire of unbeaten multiple Black type winner Fontanelice, who landed the G3 Premio Passi on her most recent start. He has five yearlings catalogued in the Goffs Sportsman Sale this autumn, plus a further seven in the Tattersalls October Sale.
