Sheikhzayedroad wins the G1 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes

British raider Sheikhzayedroad successfully plundered the top Woodbine purse on Sunday September 14 when landing the G1 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes over 12f. The improving son of Dubawi, trained in Newmarket by David Simcock, was completing his eighth career victory and third straight at Stakes level after victories in the G2 York Stakes and Listed Fred Archer Stakes at Newmarket.

Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock and owned by Mohammed Jaber, he is out of the Highest Honor mare Royal Secrets, herself a daughter of G2 winner Marble Maiden.

Sheikhzayedroad becomes Dubawi's 16th individual G1 winner and fifth this season after 2,000 Guineas hero Night Of Thunder, an excellent G1 third earlier in the day at Longchamp, top sprinter Lucky Nine, Dubai winner Prince Bishop and Australian scorer Tiger Tees.
