Shamardal’s G1 winner Amaron adds another Group win to his record

Lands the G3 Frühjahrsmeile to take his tally of Stakes wins to six

On a busy weekend for the Darley stallions across the globe, Shamardal recorded his second Stakes winner in as many days when his son Amaron landed the G3 Frühjahrsmeile at Dusseldorf.

Landing the one-mile contest by a length and a quarter, he was adding a sixth Stakes win to his impressive record. He is one of ten G1 winners for his sire, having taken the Premio Vittorio Di Capua in September 2012. Today he was recording his second consecutive Group victory, following his win in the G3 Prix Perth at Saint-Cloud last November.

Bred by Genesis Green Stud, Amaron is out of the Bertolini mare Amandalini, a half-sister to G1 colt Persian Lux.

Shamardal has made a flying start to 2014, with the flat season only just underway, recording ten individual Stakes winners and a further six Black type performers, headed by G2 winner Excellent Result and 1,000 Guineas hopeful Ihtimal.

He stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €50,000 October 1st Special Live Foal.
