Ribbons strikes at Deauville

Daughter of Manduro wins the G1 Prix Jean Romanet

Ribbons, from the second crop of Manduro, landed her biggest career success on Sunday August 24 when running out the easy winner of the G1 Prix Jean Romanet at Deauville. Only lightly raced, she was held up in the rear early before storming down the outside in the straight to win easily on the soft ground. She has now won five of her eight starts and has never been unplaced.

Owned and bred by the Elite Racing Club, Ribbons is a daughter of the winning Marju mare Sister Act, a full sister to European champion mare Soviet Song, the winner of five G1's. Ribbons also has a yearling colt by New Approach and a filly foal by Exceed And Excel.

Manduro, who stands in France at Haras du Logis, sired French G1-winning juvenile Mandaean in his first crop, Classic winner Charity Line from his second, with 2014 Stakes winners Meerjungfrau and True Story from his third.
