G3 forecast for Teofilo

Fate narrowly denies Bocaiuva in the Prix de Flore at Saint-Cloud

Teofilo sired the first two finishers in the G3 Prix de Flore at Saint-Cloud on Thursday October 30 as his daughter Fate narrowly denied Bocaiuva in a thrilling finish. Both were held up in the rear early behind strong opening fractions before challenging in the straight and after a prolonged battle including the eventual third Sparkling Beam, Fate narrowly got the verdict in a three-way photo. Very lightly raced for a five-year-old, Fate has now won three of her seven starts.

Owned and bred by Fair Salinia Ltd, Fate is a half-sister to Champion mare Pride and winning juvenile Specifically, dam of 1,000 Guineas heroine Speciosa and is out of the Stakes-winning Alleged mare Specificity.

Fate becomes Teofilo's 15th individual Group winner with his six top-flight winners including Classic winners Trading Leather and Voleuse de Coeurs and G1 winning juveniles Parish Hall and Loch Garman. Teofilo will be standing in 2015 at Kildangan Stud for a fee of €50,000 Oct 1st, SLF.
