First foal for Vale Of York

Stakes winner Ahla Wasahl gives birth to a filly

Breeders’ Cup Juvenile hero Vale Of York sired his first foal on Tuesday January 24, when the Dubai Destination mare Ahla Wasahl foaled a bay filly.

The winner of an Ascot Listed race as a three-year-old for her owner Sultan Ali, Ahla Wasahl was also a quality juvenile when running third in the G2 Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket. This foal is from her first cover and she is due to visit Dalham Hall stallion New Approach this season.

Standing for a fee of €5,000 (Oct 1, SLF), Vale Of York covered an excellent book of commercial mares in his first season and he rates the number one juvenile son of classy speed influence, Invincible Spirit.

Also expecting his first foals later this month is Haras du Logis resident Alexandros. A G1 juvenile from the family of Dubawi, he was the winner of eight races and rated 122 by Timeform. He will stand this season for a fee of €4,000.
