Exceed And Excel filly stars in Stakes win

Stars Above Me brilliantly wins the Coronation Cup Stakes at Saratoga

Exceed And Excel filly Stars Above Me made a brilliant American debut at Saratoga July 30, easily winning the Coronation Cup Stakes over 1100m.

Stars Above Me began her racing career in Europe where she was a two-year-old winner at Leicester under the guidance of Roger Charlton. Having her first start in America for Graham Motion, the three-year-old tracked the speed in the early stages and was blocked for a run in the early part of the straight. After switching back to the inside, Stars Above Me showed an exceptional turn of foot and dashed away for a two-length victory.

A home bred for Elite Racing Club, Stars Above Me is out of unraced Red Ransom mare Kalinova, a half-sister Champion mare Soviet Song.

Stars Above Me becomes the 85th Stakes winner for Exceed And Excel who one day earlier had his two-year-old son Cotai Glory win the G3 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood.
