Back-to-back September Stakes victories for Prince Bishop

Son of Dubawi leads home a Darley-sired trifecta in G3 at Kempton

Prince Bishop (Dubawi), winner of this year’s G1 Al Maktoum Challenge R3 at Meydan, made a winning European seasonal debut in fine style on Saturday when taking the G3 September Stakes at Kempton for the second consecutive year.

Settled just off the early pace set by Authorized’s Battalion, Prince Bishop was asked to quicken with two furlongs left to run and responded beautifully (despite carrying a seven-pound penalty for his G1 win), running on well to lead home stablemate Secret Number (by Raven's Pass) by two lengths, with Battalion taking third to ensure the Darley stallions were responsible for the first three home.

Bred by Thurso Limited, Prince Bishop is out of North East Bay (Prospect Bay), herself a half-sister to fellow G1 producer Hold To Ransom.

Dubawi, the fastest stallion ever to sire 50 individual Group winners (a number which he is adding to constantly since reaching the milestone last month), is enjoying another banner year courtesy of fellow G1 winners Lucky Nine, Tiger Tees and 2,000 Guineas hero Night Of Thunder.
